This is Athens – City Festival invites everyone to celebrate World Car-Free Day in Athens! Starting at 8 pm on Saturday, September 21, Athinas Street will transform into a vibrant car-free festival space for a full 24 hours, offering a unique chance to explore the city without vehicles. This festival not only promotes sustainable urban living but also highlights the importance of community and creativity.

Here are just a few highlights of the festival:

  • Rolling on Mitropoleos Street: The biggest wheel parade in Athens kicks off at Syntagma Square from 8 – 9:30 pm.
  • Skate Jam on Athinas Street: Join fellow skaters from 8:30 – 9:30 pm.
  • Midnight Cinema: Enjoy classic films, including “City Lights” and “Wings of Desire,” starting at midnight.
  • DJ Sets and Live Performances: Dance the night away with a lineup of local talent.
