A New Star Emerges
Among the notable highlights is Makris Athens, which has earned its first MICHELIN Star. Located opposite the ancient Agora, this restaurant offers a unique dining experience steeped in history. Chef Petros Dimas showcases Greece’s rich gastronomic heritage through menus inspired by ancient traditions. A significant portion of ingredients is sourced from his own farm, enhancing the quality of dishes like Genesis, Utopia, and Physis Vegan.
Continuing Excellence
The renowned restaurant Delta has maintained its prestigious Two MICHELIN Star status, reaffirming its place among the elite of Athens’ dining establishments. The guide also includes 11 one-MICHELIN-Star restaurants this year, featuring favorites such as Botrini’s, CTC Urban Gastronomy, Hervé, Hytra, Patio, Pelagos, Soil, Spondi, The Zillers, and Tudor Hall, alongside the new addition of Makris Athens.
Green Initiatives
In addition to traditional accolades, the guide highlights three MICHELIN Green Star restaurants: Delta, Patio, and Soil. These establishments exemplify a commitment to sustainability, merging culinary excellence with ecological responsibility. Their chefs foster awareness about sustainable practices, enhancing the overall dining experience in Athens and beyond.
Bib Gourmand Recognitions
The Bib Gourmand category celebrates restaurants providing excellent value for money. This year, six venues have retained this distinction, including Cerdo Negro 1985, Fine Mess Smokehouse, Jerár, and Nolan, along with two new entries: Akra and Pharaoh.
- Akra, led by chefs Giannis Loukakis and Spiros Pediaditakis, offers an inviting sensory experience in the Pangrati neighborhood, known for its barbecue cuisine and unique half-portion options.
- Pharaoh, directed by chef Manolis Papoutsakis, embraces Greek culinary traditions with a modern twist, using wood and charcoal to prepare authentic flavors in a stylized setting.
