Canyoning in Tsagaraki Gorge, Evia

Have you ever considered canyoning? It is an adventure that combines contact with nature with a variety of sports and plenty of adrenaline, while maintaining a high degree of safety.

This activity takes place in the heart of nature, exploring small or large natural wonders along paths that can only be truly appreciated by those willing to become explorers. Crossing the gorge offers a different, beautiful perspective of the landscape and reveals its hidden treasures.

Winter may limit “extreme” activities, but Tsagaraki Gorge is ideal for this time of year. Central Euboea generously offers its many beauties, and this gorge is one you have definitely never seen before. Along the route, there are nine waterfalls, where the combination of alpine landscape and water makes rappelling from 8 to 22 meters feel magical. Participants can play in the water like a child, jump from 5 meters, and experience the adrenaline rush of rappelling from 22 meters.

Rafting on the Venetikos & Aliakmonas River, Grevena

A fun descent into the heart of Macedonian nature, where the rivers Venetikos and Aliakmonas meet in a landscape of remarkable beauty. Located between Meteora and Grevena, this route combines gentle river flow with impressive surroundings, making it an enjoyable and accessible outdoor experience.

The meeting point is the rafting base in Felli, Grevena, where equipment is provided before transferring to the starting point of the descent. Following a detailed safety briefing and paddling instructions, the route begins, unfolding through a unique natural setting of sandstone rock formations reminiscent of Meteora and dense forests of towering plane trees.

Along the way, participants paddle through Grade II passages, with planned stops for swimming, diving, and playful moments in the water. The river also passes through a protected wetland area, offering the chance to spot local wildlife such as cormorants, herons, and otters.

The descent concludes near the base, where the group reunites with the vehicles, bringing this refreshing river experience to a close.

Winter Ascent to Skolio 2909m, Mt. Olympus

Have you ever dreamed of standing on the second highest peak of Olympus and Greece during winter? The winter ascent to Skolio (2909m) is a truly special experience. Snow covers the mountain even at lower altitudes, creating a striking contrast across the slopes and peaks.

The adventure begins in the village of Kalyvia Elassonas, where participants meet before traveling by jeep to Kat. Christakis (2450m), weather permitting. From there, equipped and ready, the hike follows the E4 path, passing through the Gourna and Christakis areas and along snow-covered high peaks, while Skolio dominates the horizon.

Crossing the pass, hikers are rewarded with a 360° panoramic view: all the peaks of Olympus are visible, with the Pindos mountains on one side and Mount Athos in the distance, creating a unique winter panorama. Following the ridge, the climb reaches its culmination at Skolio, the second highest peak of Olympus and Greece.

Three Days Clean Monday at the Sacred Rocks of Meteora

Experience the peaks of Agrafa, the ancient paths of Meteora, and the lively Dionysian Festival of Tyrnavos over an unforgettable three-day adventure.

Friday: Departure from Argos – Nafplio, Corinth – Athens at 16:00 (by arrangement).

Saturday: Enjoy a scenic hike with views of Lake Plastiras, from Neochori to the Agrafa Karamanoli shelter and onward to the snowy peak of Templa. After returning to the shelter, take a coffee break and explore local sights.

Sunday: Hike via Cordata to “Megali Agia,” traversing the extraordinary rocks of Meteora. Walk past abandoned hermitages and monasteries, observe the nesting sites of the Egyptian vulture, visit the Great Meteor, and return to Kastraki through a beautiful forest. The day concludes with lunch and carnival festivities.

Monday: Visit Tyrnavos to celebrate koulouma, fly kites, enjoy tsipoura, and join the Dionysiac Bourani festivities before returning in the late afternoon.

Bridges & Villages Hike – Zagori

Zagori is famous for its traditional network of footpaths connecting 46 villages before modern roads were built. Starting from Kipi village, participants walk across iconic stone bridges from the 17th–18th century, often named after their benefactors.

During the hike, the group visits Lazaridi’s museum in Koukouli, housed in the home of its creator, Kostas Lazaridis, which showcases rare flora of Vikos Gorge. From there, the trail continues along the historic Koukouli Steps to Kipi village, concluding the hike through charming traditional streets.

Crossing the Vikos Gorge

Crossing the Vikos Gorge (Charadra of Vikos) is a milestone for any hiker. It is Greece’s most famous and impressive gorge, located in the heart of the Vikos-Aoos National Park, part of the UNESCO European Network of Geoparks since 2010. The gorge is the deepest canyon in the world relative to its width, earning a place in the Guinness Book!

Hikers are treated to breathtaking views of vertical limestone cliffs formed at the bottom of ancient oceans some 150 million years ago. The gorge is rich in plants and animals, with an estimated 1,800 plant species, including large trees like maples and lindens, as well as the paleo-endemic Balkan species Ramonda Servica, which has thrived here since the last glacial period.

Two-Day Trip on Mount Olympus, KE.O.A.X. – Vrysopoules (from Thessaloniki)

Experience a unique winter adventure on snowy Mount Olympus, the legendary mountain of the gods. In March, snow still covers the high-altitude landscape, revealing panoramic views of the Aegean Sea and the mountainous ranges of Macedonia. The journey begins with arrival at KE.O.A.X. (Vrysopoules refuge at 1,805 m) and a short acclimatization hike to familiarize participants with the terrain and winter equipment. On the second day, the ascent continues through alpine, snow-covered terrain using specialized gear, aiming for Agios Antonios (2,820 m) or Skolio (2,909 m) if weather conditions allow, with breathtaking views of Olympus peaks.

The route begins at the central square of Amfikleia and ascends along village roads to a dirt path leading to the small chapel of Agios Athanasios. It then follows a trail toward Agia Marina and the Holy Monastery of Dadiou (Panagia Gavriotissa). At the highest point near the monastery, a drinking fountain is available. The descent continues along a trail to Plai of Amfikleia, offering open views of the village before returning through narrow streets to the central square.

This hike offers the perfect opportunity to admire the crystal-clear waters of Voidomatis Gorge and explore the rich biodiversity of the Vikos-Aoos National Park, part of the UNESCO European Geoparks Network. The trail follows a well-carved path along the riverbanks, passing centuries-old plane trees, alders, and other native flora. Along the route, hikers encounter shallow caves once inhabited by prehistoric humans, the 17th-century church of Agioi Anargyroi, and end at the single-arched bridge of Klidonia.
