Preview screening of The Song of the Forests by Vincent Munier
Cinema-goers and lovers of the natural world are invited to a preview screening of The Song of the Forests (Le Chant des forêts), the latest documentary by the acclaimed French wildlife photographer and filmmaker Vincent Munier, on Thursday 29 January at 18:30, at the French Institute of Greece.
The screening forms part of the Institute’s new annual cultural series, “Rendez-vous Sina”, and is organised in collaboration with the film distribution company One from the Heart and the Hellenic Ornithological Society.
Ahead of its official release in Greek cinemas on 12 February, the documentary offers an intimate journey into the forests of the Vosges in eastern France. Accompanied by his father and his son, Munier patiently observes wildlife in its natural habitat, following the rhythms of forest life.
Lynxes, deer, owls and other elusive creatures appear through a careful balance of silence, sound and light, revealing a world that often remains unseen. The film invites viewers to slow down and reconnect with nature through attentive observation and quiet storytelling.
Awarded the Lumière for Best Original Music and nominated for a total of three Lumières Awards, The Song of the Forests also enjoyed a successful theatrical run in France, remaining in the country’s Top 5 at the box office for four consecutive weeks.

Avant-première du documentaire Le Chant des forêts de Vincent Munier
Les cinéphiles et les amoureux de la nature sont invités à découvrir en avant-première Le Chant des forêts, le nouveau documentaire du photographe animalier et réalisateur français Vincent Munier, le jeudi 29 janvier à 18h30, à l’Institut français de Grèce.
La projection s’inscrit dans le nouveau cycle culturel annuel «Rendez-vous Sina» de l’Institut français de Grèce et est organisée en partenariat avec la société de distribution One from the Heart et la Société hellénique pour l’ornithologie.
En amont de sa sortie officielle dans les salles grecques le 12 février, le film propose une immersion sensible au cœur des forêts des Vosges, dans l’est de la France. Accompagné de son père et de son fils, Vincent Munier observe la vie sauvage dans son environnement naturel, suivant patiemment le rythme de la forêt.
À travers le silence, les sons et la lumière, le film révèle un monde discret et fragile, invitant le spectateur à renouer avec une attention profonde au vivant.
Récompensé par le Prix Lumière de la meilleure musique et nommé à trois Prix Lumières, Le Chant des forêts a également connu un beau succès en France, se maintenant pendant quatre semaines consécutives dans le Top 5 du box-office.
