The British have spoken: Greece is the most value for money destination for holidays

A research study, which evaluated the opinions of British travelers on 28 destinations, revealed that an overwhelming 94% believe that Greece offers exceptional value for money. A recent survey has shown that the British view Greece as the most cost-effective holiday destination, while Scandinavia is considered the least favorable. This ranking, as determined by the Post Office Travel Money Holiday Spending Report, highlights the differing perceptions of the value of global travel destinations.

The research, which assessed the views of British travelers on 28 destinations, found that an overwhelming 94% believe that Greece offers exceptional value for money. In contrast, only 38% felt the same about Scandinavia, which includes Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, placing it at the bottom of the list.

Mainland Spain closely follows Greece, with 93% of respondents rating it as a destination with good value for money. The Canary Islands, which encompass popular spots like Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, and Lanzarote, also scored 93%, securing their position as the third best value destination.

Conversely, Switzerland is rated just above Scandinavia as the second worst value destination, with only 38% of travelers considering it a good value.

For those seeking long-haul trips, Thailand emerges as the top choice, with 89% of British travelers viewing it as a destination with good value. Mexico and South Africa also hold high positions, with 87% and 85% respectively.

Dubai, a popular city in the United Arab Emirates, is ranked as the lowest long-haul destination, with only 51% acceptance. The United States and Mauritius follow with 67% and 68% respectively, completing the list of less favorable long-haul destinations in terms of value.
