Athens Beach Prices 2026: What a Day by the Sea Really Costs

The cost of Athens beaches depends on the kind of beach day you want. You can still enjoy a swim for free at many beaches in Athens and Attica, but once you choose an organized beach, a beach bar or a premium Riviera club, the price starts to include extras such as entrance fees, reserved umbrellas, sunbeds, towels, parking, food and drinks.

Because of these variables, prices can change quickly. A beach that looks affordable at first may become more expensive once you add weekend supplements, front-row charges, cabanas or food and beverage minimums.

This guide brings together 20 organized beaches and beach clubs in Athens and Attica, from the polished venues of the Athens Riviera to the more relaxed beach bars of Schinias, Anavyssos and Artemida. The aim is to help you understand not only where to swim, but what a beach day may actually cost in 2026.

The prices in this guide were collected from official beach websites, published price lists, online ticketing pages and Plazz, the beach reservation platform used by many venues in Greece. Because each beach structures its prices differently, we focused on the most practical visitor costs for a standard beach day: entrance fees, umbrella packages, sunbeds, cabanas and any clearly listed extras.

Important: Prices are indicative. They can change depending on the date, season, row, weekday or weekend, public holiday, package type, minimum consumption, parking, towels, food and drinks. Always check the relevant booking or ticketing page before you go.

Before You Book: What the Prices Mean

Not every organized beach in Athens charges in the same way. Some places have a general entrance fee, with sunbeds either charged separately or offered subject to availability. Others work with a sunbed and umbrella package, usually for two people.

At several beach bars, the price may also include food and beverage consumption, towels, parking or a reserved row, while other venues charge only for the beach setup. This is why the final amount can vary depending on the day, the row, the season and the type of package you reserve.

1. Astir Beach, Vouliagmeni

Best for: luxury, special occasions, the classic Athens Riviera experience

Astir Beach is the polished end of the Athens Riviera experience. Set on the Vouliagmeni peninsula, a short drive from central Athens and the airport, it combines clear water, soft golden sand, attentive service and high-end facilities. It is not the beach to choose for a casual, low-cost swim; it is better understood as a premium beach day or a special-occasion seaside experience.

What makes Astir especially unusual is not only its luxury setting, but the presence of the Temple of Apollo Zoster, a 6th-century BC archaeological site within the beach area. According to myth, Leto, pregnant with Apollo and Artemis, stopped in this part of Vouliagmeni while fleeing Hera and loosened her belt, or zoster, giving the sanctuary its name. Few organized beaches near Athens place contemporary leisure so visibly beside ancient history.

For the period currently shown for 5 July to 30 September 2026, Astir’s price list gives a Shade Pass at €80 per person, with a minimum of two passes required. This means a standard booking for two adults starts at €160. The Front Row pass is listed at €105 per person, again with a minimum of two passes, bringing a front-row booking for two adults to €210. Children’s tickets are listed at €40.

Facilities include indoor and outdoor showers, beach towels, lockers, beach volleyball courts, a water ski club, high-end retail shops and personal workout options. These are part of what makes Astir feel closer to a resort-style beach club than a standard organized beach.

Online bookings can be changed or cancelled through More.com no later than 48 hours before the day and time of the booking, according to the ticketing information. Because prices and availability can change by date and category, it is best to check the live ticketing page before visiting.

2. Akti Vouliagmenis, Vouliagmeni Beach

Akti Vouliagmenis
Akti Vouliagmenis. Image credit: hppc.gr

Best for: clear water, families, sports facilities and good value in Vouliagmeni

Akti Vouliagmenis, also known as Vouliagmeni Beach, is one of the most popular organized beaches on the Athenian Riviera. Set on a green stretch of coast with clear water, golden sand and a Blue Flag, it offers a more accessible alternative to the luxury beach clubs nearby while still providing the comfort of a fully organized seaside day.

The beach operates daily throughout the year, according to its published opening hours, and combines swimming with practical facilities that make it especially convenient for a full day by the sea. Visitors will find lifeguard services, first aid, accessible parking and entrance ramps, WC facilities, showers, changing rooms, free parking, Wi-Fi, refreshment kiosks, sports courts and beach facilities.

For the period from 1 June 2026 to 30 April 2027, the published price list gives a regular entrance ticket of €10 per person from Monday to Friday and €15 per person on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. A reduced entrance ticket is listed at €5 on weekdays and €8 on weekends and public holidays.

A major advantage of Akti Vouliagmenis is that sunbeds and umbrellas are available free of charge with the entrance ticket, subject to availability. This makes the beach one of the strongest value choices in Vouliagmeni, especially when compared with nearby premium beach clubs where reserved sunbed packages can be much more expensive.

For families, the beach lists a Family Day Card at €35 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. This applies to families with up to two children aged up to 18 years old. For each additional child, the charge depends on the child’s age and the relevant ticket category.

There is also a special €5 ticket for residents of Vari, Voula and Vouliagmeni, as well as for members of local associations. This special ticket applies throughout the operating period of the beach and is valid for one entry per day.

During the lower season, from 1 November 2026 to 30 April 2027, the entrance ticket is listed at €5 per person for all categories and all days.

For visitors who want an upgraded experience, the Akti Gold area is separate from the standard entrance ticket. Based on the current information available, the upgraded Akti Gold option for summer 2026 ranges roughly from €50 to €75, depending on the day of the week and booking conditions. Because this is a separate upgraded product, it is best checked directly on the e-ticket platform before visiting.

For sportier beachgoers, Akti Vouliagmenis also offers courts and facilities for racquets, tennis, basketball, volleyball and beach volleyball. This makes it suitable not only for a quiet swim, but also for visitors who want a more active beach day.

3. Lake Vouliagmeni, Vouliagmeni

Best for: calm water, natural spa atmosphere and year-round swimming

Lake Vouliagmeni is not a beach in the traditional sense, but it belongs in this guide because it offers one of the most distinctive swimming experiences near Athens. Set just behind the coast and surrounded by natural rock formations, the lake feels less like a seaside beach and more like a calm open-air swimming retreat on the Athens Riviera.

The water temperature usually ranges from 21°C to 29°C, which makes it a comfortable option beyond the main summer season. The atmosphere is also different from most organized beaches: there is no long sandy shoreline or rows of umbrellas by the sea, but a more contained setting with still water, cliffs, organized seating and reserved areas.

According to the official price list, general admission is €17 on weekdays and €19 on weekends and public holidays. Residents with a VVV Citizen Card pay €10 on weekdays and €13 on weekends and public holidays, while members pay €12 and €15 respectively. University students pay €14 on weekdays and €17 on weekends and public holidays.

For children, admission is free for ages 0–5. Children aged 6–12 pay €14 on weekdays and €17 on weekends and public holidays.

Visitors who want a more comfortable setup can book one of the upgraded areas. The Under the Pines Prive Adult option is listed at €45 on weekdays and €55 on weekends and public holidays, while the Under the Pines Prive Children option for ages 6–12 is listed at €25 on all days.

At the Water Front, a lounge chair set for two guests is listed at €40 on weekdays and €50 on weekends and public holidays. A sunbed set for two guests costs €70 and €90 respectively, while a cabana for two guests is listed at €80 and €100. A larger cabana with two lounge chairs for four guests costs €115 on weekdays and €140 on weekends and public holidays. On the Main Deck, a comfort set for two guests is listed at €60 and €70.

The main thing to understand before booking is that there is a clear difference between simple admission and a reserved seating experience. For a shorter swim, general admission may be enough. For a slower day with guaranteed comfort, the upgraded areas are more suitable, but the price moves much closer to a premium beach-club experience.

One practical point to know is that during strong winds or gusts, umbrellas may remain closed, and some areas may have limited natural shade. Tickets are also valid for one visit on the selected date, so it is worth checking the weather and booking conditions before you go.

One practical point to know before booking is that during strong winds or gusts, the umbrellas at the lake may remain closed, and there may be limited natural shade in some areas.

4. Akti tou Iliou, Alimos

Best for: easy access from central Athens, public transport, beach bars and water sports

Akti tou Iliou is one of the most convenient organized beaches in Athens. Located on the Alimos seafront, along the Athens Riviera, it is one of the easiest organized beaches to reach from the city centre by tram, bus or car. There is also parking, which makes it a practical choice for a full beach day.

The beach combines white sand and fine gravel, shaded areas, palm trees and green spaces. Visitors can relax on sunbeds, swim in clear blue water, and use the wider facilities of the beach club, including beach bars, cafés, restaurants, locker rooms, showers, restrooms and sports courts.

For 2026, the official price list gives a general entrance fee of €10 from Monday to Friday and €12 on weekends and holidays. Children under 5 years old enter free of charge. Children aged 5 to 12 pay €4 on weekdays and €5 on weekends and holidays, while seniors aged 65+ pay the same reduced rates. An aluminium sunbed costs €6 on weekdays and €8 on weekends and holidays.

Prices for reserved umbrellas and sunbeds are different from the basic entrance and aluminium sunbed prices. Visitors who want to book a specific umbrella or sunbed in advance should check the reservation platform before visiting.

Akti tou Iliou also offers lifeguards, first aid services, cleaning and sanitation services, security, lockers, showers and toilets. For activities, visitors can find volleyball and beach-racket courts, a water park, and rental options for canoes and pedal boats.

5. Varkiza Resort, Varkiza

Best for: a well-organized Riviera beach day, families, couples, groups of friends and resort-style comfort

Varkiza Resort is one of the most complete organized beach destinations on the Athenian Riviera. Set on a wide stretch of coast in Varkiza, it combines golden sand, clear water and carefully arranged beach facilities with a more polished atmosphere than a simple public beach. Sunbeds sit among palm trees and stylish bungalows, and the overall feeling is closer to a resort-style beach day than a quick swim.

The beach works well for families, couples and groups of friends because it offers space, services and food options in one place. From morning until early evening, it can be used as a full-day seaside base, especially for visitors who want comfort without moving into the highest price category of the Athens Riviera.

According to the 2026 operating regulations, Varkiza Resort operates from 09:00 to 19:00, Monday to Sunday. Entrance is charged separately from sunbeds. During the off-peak period, from 15 May to 30 June and from 1 September to 30 September, visitor entrance costs €5 from Monday to Friday and €10 on Saturday and Sunday.

During the peak period, from 1 July to 31 August, entrance costs €7 from Monday to Friday and €12 on Saturday and Sunday. This keeps the basic entrance relatively accessible compared with several premium Riviera venues, although the final cost depends on whether you also use sunbeds and buy food or drinks on site.

Sunbeds are charged separately. For visitors, a first-row sunbed set costs €20 from Monday to Friday and €30 on Saturday and Sunday. From the second row and behind, the price is €10 per set on weekdays and €20 per set on weekends. Some sunbeds served by specific beach bars may have different charges, so the final price depends on the exact area you choose.

Residents of Vari, Voula and Vouliagmeni have free entrance, with the required identification. For residents, selected sunbeds are discounted on weekdays: the first row costs €20 per set, while the second row and behind costs €5 per set. On weekends, resident sunbed prices are listed at €30 for the first row and €20 from the second row and behind.

People with disabilities enter free of charge with one escort, while a second escort receives a 50% discount. Sunbeds are charged according to the normal rules. Students and visitors over 65 are listed with a 50% discount, with the required documentation.

One useful point to know before visiting is that outside coffee, soft drinks, alcohol, food and snacks are not allowed inside the resort. This means the real cost of a beach day may include not only entrance and sunbeds, but also drinks or food purchased on site.

Overall, Varkiza Resort is best understood as a structured, comfortable beach option rather than a budget swim. It offers a polished seaside setting, organized facilities and enough variety for a long beach day, while still remaining more accessible than the most exclusive beach clubs in Vouliagmeni or Glyfada.

6. Krabo Beach, Kavouri / Vouliagmeni

Best for: chic beach-club atmosphere, seaside dining, cocktails and a premium Riviera day

Krabo Beach is one of the more stylish beach concepts on the Athens Riviera, set in a secluded bay in the Kavouri area. Its design is simple and chic, with natural colours that blend into the rocky coastline, giving the beach a quieter, more polished feel than many of the larger organized beaches nearby.

The experience is built around comfort and service. Visitors can spend the day on full-service sunbeds or wooden beach setups, then move to the restaurant for a Mediterranean lunch or dinner under the pergola. It is a good choice for a more refined beach day, especially for those who want the sea, food and service in one place.

For the booking option currently shown, arrival time is listed as 09:00 to 12:00. The package is priced at €120 on weekdays and €150 on weekends. It includes two beach beds, access for up to two people, and two beach towels.

Other services, including cabanas or extra poufs, should be checked directly on the booking platform, as the final price may vary depending on the exact setup, day and availability.

Facilities listed for Krabo include food and drinks, parking, Wi-Fi and shops. Overall, this is not a budget swim; it is a more curated Riviera beach day, best suited to visitors who want a quiet bay, attentive service and a stylish setting.

7. Zen Beach, Vouliagmeni

Best for: a calm Riviera setting, beach service and relaxed lunch by the sea

Zen Beach sits at Niriides Beach in Vouliagmeni, one of the most attractive corners of the Athens Riviera. The setting is quieter and more natural than many of the larger organized beaches, with a long sandy stretch, clear water and a restaurant positioned directly above the sea.

The experience is designed for a slower, more comfortable beach day. Visitors can swim, stay on the beach for several hours, and then continue with lunch or drinks at the restaurant, which offers a wide range of Mediterranean dishes. It is a good choice for those who want a polished Riviera setting without the scale or formality of the larger resort-style beaches.

For the booking option currently shown, arrival time is listed as 09:00 to 14:00 on weekdays and 09:00 to 12:30 on weekends. The umbrella package is listed at €160 on weekdays and €220 on weekends.

The package includes one umbrella and two beach beds, two complimentary beach towels, a 1-litre bottle of mineral water, parking, and a safety box. It also includes food and beverage consumption of €60 on weekdays and €90 on weekends.

Facilities listed for Zen Beach include food and drinks, parking and Wi-Fi. Since the final price may depend on the row, package type and availability, it is best to check the live booking page before visiting. Overall, Zen Beach is best understood as a premium, relaxed beach-and-restaurant experience rather than a low-cost swim.

8. Grand Beach Lagonissi, Lagonissi

Best for: resort-style beach day, premium service, families and water sports

Grand Beach Lagonissi, at Grand Resort Lagonissi, is one of the best-known resort beaches on the Athenian Riviera. Set on a white sandy beach with organized sunbeds and umbrellas, it offers a more exclusive seaside experience, combining swimming, beach service, cocktails, food and water sports in one place.

The setting is more resort-like than urban. Visitors come here for a comfortable full-day beach experience, with sunbeds, umbrellas, waiter service, food and drinks, Wi-Fi and organized parking. It is especially suited to those who want a polished beach day outside the city, rather than a quick swim close to Athens.

For the booking option currently shown, arrival time is listed as 09:00 to 14:00. Each umbrella includes two sunbeds and is valid for up to two people. The weekday price is listed at €40, while the weekend and public holiday price is €125.

The package includes two beach beds, two beach towels, two bottles of mineral water, a waiter button and exclusive service. This makes the weekday price relatively reasonable for a resort beach, while the weekend price moves it into a much more premium category.

Parking is charged separately. For cars, parking costs €5 from Monday to Friday and €10 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. For motorcycles, parking costs €3 on weekdays and €6 on weekends and public holidays.

Two practical rules are worth noting before visiting: pets are not allowed on the beach, and visitors are not allowed to bring outside food or drinks. As with several resort-style beaches, this means the real cost of the day may include not only the umbrella package and parking, but also food and drinks purchased on site.

Overall, Grand Beach Lagonissi is best suited to visitors looking for a resort-style beach day with service, space and comfort. It is not the most convenient option for a quick swim from central Athens, but it works well as a planned Riviera escape.

9. Divani Apollon Beach, Kavouri

Best for: private beach setting, upscale service, family days and stylish Riviera atmosphere

Divani Apollon Beach, officially presented as Apollon Beach, is the private beach experience of Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso in Kavouri. Set between a sandy stretch of coast and the blue waters of the Saronic Gulf, it offers a polished Riviera setting with hotel-style service, beach facilities and easy access from Vouliagmeni and the southern suburbs.

The atmosphere is calm and refined rather than flashy. It works well for visitors who want a comfortable beach day with sunbeds, service, food and drinks, but also for those who prefer a hotel-managed beach rather than a large beach-club environment.

According to the official Apollon Beach charges, day rates are divided into low season and high season. In low season, the day rate is listed at €35 on weekdays and €45 on weekends. In high season, the day rate is €40 on weekdays and €50 on weekends.

For regular visitors, monthly and all-season subscriptions are also available. These are designed for two people, with a set of two sunbeds, and include additional benefits such as guest passes and a discount at the Divani Athens Spa & Thalasso Center.

Overall, Apollon Beach is best suited to visitors looking for a controlled and comfortable Riviera beach day, with hotel-level facilities and a quieter atmosphere than some of the bigger beach clubs. It is not the cheapest option in Kavouri, but the weekday day rates make it more accessible than several of the premium reservation-only beaches nearby.

10. Aegeon Beach Hotel / Sounio Beach, Cape Sounio

Best for: scenic swimming, Temple of Poseidon views, clear water and a full-day Sounio escape

Aegeon Beach Hotel / Sounio Beach, at Cape Sounio, offers one of the most scenic beach settings in Attica. The beach sits below the Temple of Poseidon, the ancient sanctuary that has watched over this edge of the Aegean for centuries

The setting is best suited to a planned day trip rather than a quick swim. Visitors come here for clear water, temple views, a quieter coastal landscape and a more spacious beach experience. The beach also has a lifeguard, and hotel guests are not charged for the standard beach seating.

For visitors who do not need a reserved VIP spot, the standard beach options are more affordable. A set of two sunbeds with one umbrella costs €25 on weekdays and €40 on weekends and public holidays. On weekends and public holidays, the first row costs €50. Seating for these standard options is on a first-come, first-served basis.

There are also cabana options. A beige cabana for two people costs €30 on weekdays and €40 on weekends and public holidays. A black cabana for four people costs €40 on weekdays and €60 on weekends and public holidays. These are also first come, first served.

For visitors who want a guaranteed booking, the beach has a reserved VIP section available through Plazz. For the online booking option currently shown, arrival time is 09:30 to 13:00. The package costs €50 on weekdays and €80 on weekends.

The Plazz package includes one umbrella and two premium beachbeds, assured parking, a waiter button, and food and beverage consumption of €10 on weekdays or €20 on weekends. Each umbrella can be used by two people and one child up to 10 years old. For two children or more, visitors are asked to select an extra umbrella.

A few practical rules are worth noting before visiting. Pets are not allowed on the beach, and multiple bookings for children’s parties are not allowed without prior notification of the business. Because Cape Sounio is farther from central Athens, it is best to check availability before driving there, especially on weekends.

This is one of the more atmospheric beach choices in Attica: less urban than the Athens Riviera beaches in Voula or Vouliagmeni, and especially appealing for visitors who want to combine a swim with the landscape and history of Cape Sounio.

On weekends and public holidays, two adults would pay €70 for the reservation plus €20 entrance.

DOT Beach Vibes is best suited to visitors who want a comfortable, social beach day in Voula, with service and atmosphere, but without the more formal feel of some premium Riviera clubs. It has a softer, more leisurely feel than some of the louder beach clubs on the Riviera, making it suitable for visitors who want to swim, stay for lunch, or spend several hours by the water without moving between venues.

Facilities listed for Bloom include food and drinks, parking and Wi-Fi. It is a good option for visitors who want a comfortable beach day in Voula with a restaurant-bar element, but it is worth checking the live Plazz listing before booking, especially for weekends, rows and cabana availability.

One practical point to note is that ball and racket games are not allowed on the beach area, except in specially designated areas, for customer safety. This makes Barbarossa better suited to a relaxed, service-led beach day than to a sporty one.

Barbarossa works best for visitors who want a more refined Riviera setting with restaurant service and a lively but controlled atmosphere. It is not a low-cost option, especially on weekends, so it is worth checking the live Plazz listing before booking.

How to Choose the Right Beach for Your Budget

If you want the most affordable organized beach day in the southern suburbs, Akti Vouliagmenis and Akti tou Iliou are among the most practical choices. They offer clear pricing, easy access and the basic facilities most people need for a comfortable day by the sea.

If you are planning a more premium Athens Riviera experience, beaches such as Astir Beach, Krabo, Zen Beach, The C, Barbarossa and Manko offer a more polished setting, but the final cost can rise quickly depending on the row, package, cabana, date and weekend pricing.

For a different side of Attica, Schinias, Anavyssos and Artemida can feel more relaxed and less urban. These areas are better for a planned beach day rather than a quick swim, but they often offer a more local summer atmosphere.

In every case, the safest approach is simple: check the live booking page before you go. Prices can change by season, day, row, package type and availability, especially in July, August, weekends and public holidays.
