Embracing Greek Culture: Demetra Lambros Inspires Through Cooking, Language, and Music

Demetra Lambros, a native of Missoula, Montana, has always had a deep passion for Greek culture. Her love for Greek cooking, language, and music has inspired her to share her knowledge with others. After receiving her D.M.A. in Performance Practice from Stanford University, Demetra spent almost twenty years in Greece, immersing herself in the culture and traditions of the country.

During her time in Greece, Demetra worked as a cooking teacher and music teacher, sharing her expertise with students of all ages. She also worked as an editor for RILM Abstracts of Music Literature in New York, where she organized and supervised the creation of a new Indexing Manual.

Demetra’s experience as a course instructor at Stanford University, where she taught Ear Training and led discussions on the music of Beethoven, has equipped her with the skills necessary to educate others about Greek culture. Her work as an accompanist and piano instructor has further solidified her expertise in music and teaching.

In addition to her professional experience, Demetra has received several scholarships and awards for her outstanding teaching record. She was the winner of the Centennial Teaching Assistant Award at Stanford University in 1994, a university-wide award recognizing her exceptional teaching abilities.

Demetra’s knowledge of the Greek language has allowed her to connect with the Greek community and share her love for the culture with others. Through her online platform, she aims to inspire people to learn more about Greece through cooking, language, and music.
